Reloading Presses & Kits

Your press is the one piece of reloading equipment you'll touch for every round you load, so it pays to match it to how much you shoot. We carry single stage, turret, and progressive reloading presses from RCBS, Hornady, Lyman, Redding, Frankford Arsenal, and Lee Precision, along with complete reloading kits for getting started.

Single stage, turret, or progressive?

Single stage presses hold one die and do one step at a time. They're slower, but they're the easiest way to learn and the first choice for precision rifle ammunition. RCBS, Redding, Hornady, and Frankford Arsenal all make single stage presses, from heavy cast-iron O-frames to coaxial designs that let the die and shellholder float for better alignment.

Turret presses hold several dies on a rotating head, so you can move between steps without unscrewing anything. Lyman and Redding both make turret presses, and they're a popular middle ground for reloaders who load several cartridges.

Progressive presses run several stations at once and turn out a finished round with nearly every pull of the handle. If you're looking for a 9mm reloading press for high-volume pistol ammo, a progressive from RCBS or Hornady is the place to start. Expect more setup time up front in exchange for much faster loading once it's dialed in.

Reloading kits or building your own bench

A reloading kit bundles a press with some of the basics, such as a scale, powder measure, and priming tool, so you can start loading sooner. Kits from RCBS and Hornady are popular starting points. Experienced reloaders often prefer to buy the press alone and pick each tool themselves. Either way, you'll still need reloading dies and shellholders for each cartridge you load.

Loading one cartridge without a press

Lee Precision makes hand-held, single-caliber loaders for common cartridges such as 9mm, .223, 30-06, and 45-70. It's slow, but it's inexpensive and fits in a drawer, which makes it a low-risk way to find out whether reloading is for you.

Keeping your press running

Replacement handles, primer arms, and other spare parts are in reloading press parts and accessories. A solid reloading bench or stand makes any press easier to use, especially when you're sizing rifle brass. New to reloading?
